I could write something snarky, like, 'it's reported that the Grand County Travel Council spends over $2 million per year to promote "the natural wonders of (Grand County) Utah" --which, needless to say, translates to 'hey! come spend your tourist dollars here, in Color Country, Utah, folks!'-- but I won't.

Crystal Geyser, along the Green River in ..... you guessed it ....... Grand County, Ootah.

The thing is, though, it isn't a 'natural' wonder at all. Its a drill hole alongside the river, and it spews every now and then.

Cool photos. Just upriver from Ruby Ranch on the Green River. I've seen it several times but never seen the Geyser part.

You haven't missed much, Chief. When the geyser [edit: er, drill hole pipe] (randomly, maybe once every few days) spews, it typically just burbles and spurts rather than doing anything more noteworthy. Makes for an interesting display of burbled up geology, though.

(How's your recuperation coming along???)

Beautiful area & wonderful shots Cany143. I just returned from there after seeing a couple of the suggestions you made previously. Thank you for that. You live in a terrific part of the country.

Thank you. BTW: been enjoying the images you've posted of your trip, too. Assuming there's more to come, did you get on up into Ootah as well? (What can I say? I always enjoy seeing how people from outside this area see and interpret the stuff I see daily....)

A few weeks ago, I might've said something like, 'cool! and please tell your friends, and their friends, and their friend's friends, to kindly cancel their Utah trips, too!' Now, since things have quieted down a little, and its the generally less hectic months of Summer, its easier to adopt a calmer, less stabby outlook. In any event, Fall is arguably just about the best time of the year to be in this area, so don't cancel your plans quite yet. (Actually, Fall is second only to Winter, when its pretty much down to only us locals.)

There was a time back in the '80's when I believed Gatlinburg TN had more motels per square inch than anywhere on earth. Now, I think Moab UT might have that beat by a mile.

It's going OK, thanks for asking. Stiches come out next week, then back in a cast or hopefully a walking boot depending on what the Doc see's. I won't miss crutches.

You crack me up Cany143 ... thank you for that ... & yes, it's coming up in part 5 or 6 (haven't thought that far ahead yet). After Sedona, we went to Williams, AZ & the Grand Canyon via Jerome (amazing town), then over to Escalante with a quick impromptu stop at Bryce (we'd spent several days there in '16) ... then over the mountains via Capital Reef before heading to Canyon Lands & Moab, which was also an impromtu visit. In '16 we spent several days at Arches & Canyonlands, where we wanted some good shots from the Green River Overlook, but we were blown out of there by a sand storm. So we went back this trip to capture those missed shots. Have to say I love, love, LOVE your area ... even if they are only after my tourist $.

If its a boot rather than a cast, will you be going with one of the really ornate exotic snakeskin ones? or will you be stickin' traditional with simple --only lightly tooled-- buffalo hide boot? Decisions, decisions....
