Trying the determine which calibrator is the most frequently used by HH's, and the most popular. Reviews by Amazon are all over the place. Just need a reliable calibrator for the hobbyist photographer. Thanks
For what it's worth:
I use the Spyder 5 PRO
NO complaints

If you use a display with a progammable LUT (look up table for color)- then that would rule out anything from Datacolor. I use an Xrite i1 Display Pro - with my Dell 24" displays with programmable LUT.

This is what I'm using also.

I'm using this as well. No problems.
Above mentioned are both good. That said I'm an xrite fan.
I went from spyder 4 elite to colormunki , and then to i1 display pro when I bought my 2 Pro quality monitors . It all depends on how much you want to spend and how accurate your monitors can calibrate to . Mine calibrate to 100% sRGB and 99% Adobe RGB
Both, when properly used will do the job. I use Spider.

Completely agree with Gene, I use the same and I think the I1 Display Pro is the best there is available at the present time

I’ve used both brands over the last 16 years. DataColor software is easier to use. X-Rite can be more accurate and is required by some 10-bit monitors.
I’m happy with my Spyder5Pro. They now sell the SpyderX series (improved speed and accuracy over the Spyder5Pro).
It’s far more important to use one than to worry over which one!
I have the x-rite i1Studio ($440 on Amazon), which allows you to calibrate monitors, printers, scanners, build a profile for your cameras, and even calibrate projectors. The big difference is it can scan both luminescent (monitors) and reflective copy (prints). I find it easy to use as instructions actually pop up when using the app. I calibrate my monitors, scanner, which I use to scan slides, negatives and even old prints, and printer. I am very pleased with the color matches I am getting.
Both brands are good. It depends on your preferences for the most part. I use a Spyder 5 Elite.
Do you prefer a Ferrari or a Lamborghini?

I use an Xrite i1 Display Pro with my Benq 27" SW2700PT monitor. No problems, works fine.
