Just received my new D850. Amazing camera so far.
I was reviewing a couple of new pictures in camera. And above the number identifying picture, there is/was a lighting bolt looking symbol with an arrow on each end. Reviewed book everywhere...nothing. Then 15 min later that symbol was gone. Does anyone know what it was?

WOW, you have a tough question! It certainly is not a flash symbol of any kind. Flash symbols used by the 850 only have an arrow at the bottom of the flash. I've searched high and low and cannot find any reference to the symbol you are seeing. Any chance we can see a photo of this symbol?

The answer to this one will be interesting.

Did it look like a Bluetooth symbol?

If so, and if you are not using Bluetooth, go into the setup menu and shut it off.

Correct. Turn it off, it drains your battery if the radio cannot find a Bluetooth connection to the awful Snapbridge app. My D850 has been in Airplane mode since about 5 minutes after I turned it on for the first time.

Yes I set up SnapBridge and photos from camera show up on my phone. But that is also when my photos on phone quit syncing to my computer photos. I thought maybe that was an issue.
I deleted snapbridge from my phone.

However, the zig-zag arrow only shows up in four pictures. (Out of 55) Then it disappeared on three of them. One picture continues to have it. I will try to figure out how to get a picture of it. Only shows up in camera

That picture should have been used in the first inquiry.

I think its showing that the image is selected for transfer to your printer. May have been setup in Snapbridge. Go to Setup, Wireless Transmission and deselect your printer Hope that's helpful.

THANX. UHH readers /responders are the best.
I went into menu. Turned OFF the “Send to smart device” and the zig zag arrows went away

Check item #3 on page 230 of the D850 Users manual. Icon is an "Upload Marking".
Page #243 says "Pictures selected for upload are indicated by a (double arrow) icon; to deselect...."

By the way, I finally got the D850 and Snapbridge to work together. The "secret" is to download and install the recent D850 firmware version 1.10, dated March 28, 2019. https://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/download/fw/325.html . This upgrade enables a D850/Snapbridge WiFi-only connection. (Before, unlike many other Nikon cameras, Snapbridge was unusable with the D850.)

Thanx... I missed that on page 243....but Im not sure if I would have figured it out from that short description...

I removed snapbridge from my phone....and now my photos sync with computer...while snapbridge was there....photos would not go from phone to computer automatically.

not sure how snapbridge benefits me.... sure I can look at pictures from my camera on my phone....but all I have to do is take the memory card out and load on my computer to view them.
