Lake Pend Oreille is the fifth deepest lake in the U.S. (1,150 feet; 350 meters) and is a long lake (43 miles or 69 km). Located in Northern Idaho. What makes it unique is that it's mostly surrounded by national forests and a few small towns. Farragut State Park sits on the south end. During world war II, the navy built Farragut Naval training station for basic training (2nd largest in nation). Today the Navy still has an a small site that houses US Navy acoustic underwater submarine research. A beautiful lake to visit and enjoy!
Sorry if I sent this twice.
The first time had no picture attached. No problem. Looks pretty.
One of the world's really beautiful lakes. When I lived in Idaho I visited it several times. Thanks for posting.
I lived in Sandpoint (north end of the lake) for many years and yes that lake is beautiful. If you are touring the area, be sure to check out the out-flow of the Pend Oreille River as you cross the long bridge when traveling north into Sandpoint. The in-flow of the Clark Fork River at Clark Fork, Idaho is also beautiful and the floating restaurant is worth a stop (at least it used to be). Take care & ...
Probably two stops underexposed, otherwise passable composition snapshot.
Send more of the same, Hiker60?
Thanks for comments. And yes, the lake is a great location to visit.
