Hey there everyone,
I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new Canon Powershot SX40 this week! It's an upgrade from the S2 I've had for a few years. I seriously considered a Rebel T3 but in the end decided that the SX40 would meet 95% of my photography needs quite nicely. Next camera purchase in a few years most likely WILL be a DSLR.
My main interests in photography are taking good crisp photos of my watercolors to use for fine art prints and submission for juried exhibitions. Plus I enjoy dabbling in macro photography of flowers and insects in my garden. Beyond that, I simply enjoy becoming more technically proficient with the manual settings of my camera as well as the other things that go into taking the best pictures I can with the equipment I have.
I looked at a lot of photography forums recently but I really like the atmosphere on this one :) I look forward to getting to know you all.
