Designed by the same G.Gordon Meade who commanded the Army of the Potomac at Gettysburg, "Old Barney" is an icon of the Jersey Shore. The area around the lighthouse is a small state park and because there is access to the jetty beyond the lighthouse, it is a very popular spot for bird photographers and fishermen. On any morning, when the birds are around, you will see plenty of photographers with gimbal heads on their tripods supporting optical howitzers to get that perfect shot. This photo is looking out to the Atlantic. I did not edit the original RAW file, so there should be plenty of details to extract or do whatever you want. Have fun

Feel free to download the image to your computer and edit it anyway that you wish. When you have finished with your edit, you can post it in this thread. Edits will be accepted until 9pm Eastern on Thursday. After that time no edits will be accepted. Thank you for your continued support of this weekly challenge. Have fun. Erich

I like it. You removed the nonessential items with the crop, fixed the vignetting and changed the color. Big improvement. Thanks.

I never considered making it a silhouette. I have to say that I like the idea. I usually go the other direction and try to enhance detail rather than go with the darkness and eliminate it completely. Nice concept.

I would have never thought of that. I love how you blended the background with the foreground. Very imaginative and well executed.

I think that crop works quite well. Nicely done.

how about framing "Old Barney" as a watercolor against a stormy sky?

Well done. I like that you brought out detail in the trees and the near side of the lighthouse. A good vision for this photo.

That is really nice. You reworked not only the sky and the overall look; but you recreated the foreground. Attention to detail all the way down to the title in the frame. Love it.
