Finally got around to going through some of my Alaska trip images and wanted to share a few more. Hope you enjoy. Not wanting to make political statements, but considering this is our national bird, if one gets a little anthropogenic, some of these images can invoke some feelings, at least for me.

All shot with a Sony A9 and 100-400 GM plus a 1.4x converter for some.

Enjoy. Comments and honest critiques are always appreciated.

Wow Wow!!! Do Alaskan eagles have a darker plumage than our East Coast eagles ? My eagle pictures are more brown.

Thanks for looking. I am not sure I can answer your question re east coast vs. Alaska balds. You could share one of your images on this post and perhaps someone can provide some insight. Feel free to post one or two.

The brown eagle is probably an immature Bald Eagle. The adults have to be at least three years old to show adult plumage colors. Really nice photos. I have been watching for some wildlife photographer to show the kind of accuracy the Sony A9 and 100-400 GM plus a 1.4x converter can do in the hands of a experience photographer.

Nope...the Florida bald eagle is slightly smaller and has brown plumage and white.I'm not sure how widespread in Florida and in other states that occurs.

Well? And your opinion is? I would not call myself a exceptional wildlife photographer. There are really great ones out there. But, the Sony A9 is pretty amazing. The 100-400 plus converters is pretty Amazing. The 400 2.8 is even better. Is it worth it. Good question. Perhaps only to the individual willing and crazy enough to make the purchase. I'm glad I did. My photography is for me. I invest in equipment to satisfy me. I want the best, I invest in the best......, and hope!
