I recently bought a D500 and am using a Tamron 16-300 and tamron 150-600 mostly for wildlife. Thinking of buying a Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 Art DC HSM Lens for Nikon. What are some thoughts?

I own a D 7500 and a D5200 before that have the Nikon 200-500 for wildlife but my walk around lens is the nikon 16-80 now and the Sigma 17-70 macro before that

You cannot go wrong with any of Sigma's Art Lenses. Another, you may consider is the Tamron 15-30mm f2.8 G2, which has good ratings too. I have seen the results of the Tamron on a Nikon DSLR, and the images were very sharp. My next wide angle lens, will be the Nikon DX version 10-20mm. I saw that lens attached to a Nikon D7500 at an event not long ago. And the owner said it was an underrated wide angle lens. Since, the Sigma 18-35mm Art lens is f1.8, I would consider buying it for your D500.

Probably because it’s almost 2 stops faster (1.8 vs 3.5) and most likely sharper.

I got the fx lens used on KEH for $415 and it is a gem on my D500 Sharp, quiet, light and quick to focus and when I go full frame I can use it as well. If you ever want to sell it you can have buyers from ff and dx.

My Tamron is my walk around lens. It is on my Nikon D 7100 all the time. You know it can do a lot.

Personally, I wouldn't waste the money if it were me, but then it's not. You have pretty much everything covered with the lenses you have, but if you want to get more lenses, it's your money and the opinion of the UHH rank and file should not be a deciding factor. If you want it and can afford it, buy it.
The four lenses I use most on my D500 are Nikkor 16-80, the lens that came with it, Nikkor 28-300, my general purpose utility lens, Nikkor 200-500 and a Sigma 150-600 Contemporary with Sigma 2X extender. I use the latter mounted on a tripod. I use the 16-80 mainly for indoor photos. The 28-300 is on the D500 more than any other lens. I also use the 200-500 with a Nikon 1.4X extender. I have a few other Nikkor lenses I share between the D500 and my D7200 but my everyday shooter is my Canon 5D mk IV with a Canon EF 28-300L mounted.
I don't worry about having the fastest or absolutely sharpest lenses money can buy. I'm not planning on enlarging my photos more than 13 X 19 and usually print smaller than that.
I've always found it somewhat ironic that people are obsessed with the fastest and sharpest lenses but generally only display their photos on electronic devices. Oh well, to each their own.

Because it's not just about focal length. The 16-35 is a pretty exceptionally sharp lens, fast, clean and crisp. The superzoom is mediocre at best.

Replace the 150-600 with the Nikon 200-500 f5.6.

Buy the Nikon 16-80 2.8-4 More reach at the wide end and more reach at the top end, sharper lens, better results, sells used for more money than the Sigma used. Nikon Lenses are manufactured by one company, not let out to the lowest bidder like Sigma.

I have a D500 and bought the Sigma 18-35mm and it stays on my camera 90% of the time. Sharp focus great color
