I've never thought of buying another DSLR since I bought my Df.
It does everything I need.

trying not to fall into that new gear trap but I think now it's time to upgrade my Nikon DF with the Nikon d850 don't think this will be a lateral move, going for articulating screen, ease of controls many more MP to get more detail and better ergonomics , already have a d500 and love it . So are there any other Nikon d850 owners out there that care to commit so I can be sure I'm making the right move. Will appreciate any views

Thing is most people who bought the Df did not do so for a 16MP FX sensor, they did so for the simplified functions, mechanical controls, retro design, and because it is so darn cute looking like a Nikon Fx Film Camera. Though always mightily over priced. A friend of mine recently bought a D750 24MP FX and loves it and is taking much better pix with it than the D3100 DX he used previously. His photography has improved and the D750 produces very little noise. I've seen that myself as we've both photographed together and his 24MP FX is noiseless compared to my 24MP APS-C camera. My older 16MP APS-C is better in the noise department as well. Thus, I'm implying you may be happy or even better off with a D750 or D810.

If you can afford it and just plain want it for no particular reason but a nagging feeling, do. Just don't do that too often or you'll soon find yourself unable to continue on the treadmill.

If I could afford it, I'd buy both a D850 and a Z7. I'd love to shoot both.

What was your "need" for the Df? Perhaps you should rethink "need" versus "having too much money to burn."

Jeez, what’s wrong with you people. He never said he NEEDED it. I’m guessing he bought it because he wanted to. His motivations are of no cern to anyone here.

So why is he expressing them on UHH? I don't care what the OP or anyone else does with their money, but I can sure wonder about someone having "GAS" and being stuck on a buying treadmill.

Since you seem capable of assessing the financial situation of a stranger perhaps we should all check with you before making a purchase.

I bought D850 a year ago. Really like it. However the shutter quit working and had to send it back to repair. $350. Warranty did not cover whatever it was that caused the problem.

Nikon Rumors says BuyDig now has the refurbished D850 for $2499 until June 3. However, the site itself, says $2599. Has one-yr warranty instead of the usual 90-day.

I have the D850 and absolutely love it.

So true. Everything before the new toy has been crap.
