I have REALLY been thinking of getting the X-Pro 1. Anyone have hands on experience? Your thoughts, please.

I have been using a Fuji S5 pro for around a year (not sure how close the S5 is to the Camera you are using) the S5 is almost identical to the Nikon 200 and accepts Nikon glass. I use the S5 with a Nikon 35mm DX lens for portrait work. I particularly enjoy the colour rendition that is produced by the Fuji camera. I supplement this camera with a Nikon D90 using a 18-105 Nikon Lens. I also use a 70-300 which I use as a long telephoto work.
Using the D90 and the S5 together when out and about saves on having to change lenses.

Hi, at the digital photo review site, http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/forum.asp?forum=1020, you will find literally hundreds of posts...raves/rants/reviews/photos/speculations...specifically about the X-PRO-1. I've had mine all Summer now, and couldn't be happier. When you do purchase one, first thing read the manual to see how you can tell which camera and lens firmware is already installed. (Updates are easy to locate and use.) Best of luck with this wonderful camera.
BTW, I just read that Fuji is about to release a new firmware update this week. Follow the postings in the dpreview site for up-to-date infomation.

I use my G10 Canon all the time and am finding the DSLR just sits in the camera bag along with the lenses. I am seriously thinking of selling all the stuff G10 too and getting the Fuji. I would get just two lenses, probably a 28 or 35 with fast glass and a 90mm and that would be it. Get rid of the weight and learn to walk again. Get rid of the tripod the monopod the back pack, the......and have fun again.

Hi, at the digital photo review site, url /url ... (show quote)

I'd often wish to put a digital sensor in my old Nikon F and go from there.
I was first intrigued by the analog controls for shutter speed and f-stop of the xPro1.
Than I read of a most interesting and unique sensor.
That you would be hard pressed to edit in Raw and do better than the jpg processing in camera.
The lenses, though limited in selection, are just excellent.
Some of the 'issues' with it won't bother me. Some have been fixed. AF speed? Still faster than I am used to.
I'll miss an articulating screen.
The price has dropped about $300.00 for body with lens.
It's a done deal. Been ordered.

My thoughts, too.
Just going with the 35mm (53mm 35equiv) for now, though i used to mostly shoot with a 24 and 135 with my Nikon F(s).
