We were headed out for some more photography on our last day in Monteverde when this Toucanet flew across the road. We were headed up a mountain and my guide stopped the car as I jumped out. He finally got the car turned around as I chased the bird through the bush. Been after one of these for awhile......
Good for you for capturing these fine images. vz
Very Nice... Want to see more of that trip.

Very nice! Monteverde is so nice!
Very nice! You say you've been after one for awhile. Is there a bird guide book for that part of the world? How did you know of it's existence in the first place?

Having spotted this bird several other times while in Costa Rica placed it on my, to capture list. Not many birds this colorful for the size. I have a host of other birds on my list as well.
Yes, if you look on line you can find many books on the birds of Costa Rica. I run across them from time to time in the tourist towns, but always over priced..
