My husband Willie Joe Adkins served in the Military for 30 years starting out in the U.S Air Force after graduating from High School in Maryland in 1973. Three years later he joined the US Navy where he served until his retirement. His favorite memory was being stationed on the USS Carl Vinson from 1989-90.
Here are a couple of photos of the USS Carl Vinson. He has about 12 photos in total.
Thanking all who have served throughout our history. This shot from the battleship Missouri, looking across the foredeck toward the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. I feel this captures the "bookends" of the U.S. engagement in WWII, from the opening attack to the signing of surrender documents four long years later. God Bless those that served (and died) over the years.

My son Samuel Engle served on the USS Carl Vinson also! Went to boot camp and Class A School in San Diego. We went to his graduation there.
