Based largely on the guide numbers and Ken Rockwell's review I decided to purchase the SB-400. I've already been successful with a bid on eBay, so in about a week I can begin my experiments to determine if this will fill my requirements. Was very pleased to learn that Nissin has a very powerful and functional small flash the i40N, larger than I wanted (about twice the size of the 400) and about twice the cost; however, its functionality and power seem to be off the charts for a flash unit its size.
