Camera bag strap replacement. Want one with wire etc. Recommendations?
Hello! I am traveling to Italy on June 1st. I have a think tank bag that I absolutely love. I just want to replace the one strap that goes around my waist with a strap that has wire running through it so if anybody tries to slice it it's still around my waist.
The bag also has a shoulder strap that can be used simultaneously. Just using the weight strap, puts too much strain on my back. Just using the shoulder strap, hurts my arthritic shoulder. Using the two seems to work well. I just need to make it feel a little bit more secure.
Does anyone have any recommendations. Or a different solution? Thank you very much in advance

You might want to look into PacSafe bags.
I have a chest pack bag that is comfortable to wear. It has wires in the straps and special zippers that can be set to deter thieves.

Go to an upholsterer, The have sewing machines that handle thick stuff.

Pacsafe also has straps that can be purchased separately.

I couldn't find the chest bag online but I did order both straps (camera and bag). Thank you everyone for your suggestions/comments!

Just checked again . . . it looks as if that is the case. Thank you for the suggestion. I am sure the straps are going to work very well!

Yes the straps should work well. Enjoy your trip and be vigilant, especially in crowded city areas.
You can also get a Pacsafe strap for your camera too. I have one on My Sony A7II.

I appreciate the suggestion. I did order one for the camera as well. Paid for fast shipping. Here's hoping both straps arrive before this coming Saturday!
Upstrap sells one with a kryptonite wire in it. I love their straps.

Thank you for letting me know...if the pacsafe straps don't work out, then I will have a fallback!
