What would be your workflow to reduce noise using Elements 14? It’s what I have for editing my NEF files and I’m not asking for a better software. I just want to be able to use it to its optimum.

Although you are not interested in a new software all editors control noise but not to an optimum state. Photographers that have to deal with noise often just buy a good noise reducing software.

This isn't particularly helpful. The OP would like to know HOW to reduce noise with his current software (Elements 14). If your only insight is that there is better software available, then how about listing some suggested software you feel would do the job better than Elements 14. I have the same interest in learning how to reduce noise.

Thanks, that’s where I’m at, not how to reduce noise to the optimum but how to get the most out Elements' RAW editor. I just remembered a video I saw about using the various sliders, their effects, and the need to balance the effects with sharpening if necessary. There was also something about cleaning up artifacts along outlines. I’d like to know what experienced users of Elements have to say about their workflow.

I just wanted to let you know that you can use "NIK Define2" which is part of the NIK Collection and you should be able to find a link to it. It was being offered free from Google but was bought up by DxO and they charge for the same software now. I found a link to the free Google version a month or so ago and it works with Elements 14 too. If I find the link I will post it for you and others in this group may have the link too.

You're shooting in RAW (NEF); when you import into ACR there are three little icons on the right side of the page; the center icon (detail) deals with sharpening and noise reduction. You can reduce noise in that mode.

Well said. I'd like suggestions as well.
