As a former owner, I agree on the
TR6, but really, even more typical was the big Healey.

Just got the programme through for my local club next season. Our 2nd competition is TYPICALLY BRITISH.

I've got a few ideas but I'm thinking that what I'm thinking is what a lot of others are thinking too.
So I'm asking Hedgehoggers (non U.K.) what do you think is typically British?

I'm thinking of RAIN, Sports Car (AH Frogeye Sprite or TR6), Red Telephone Kiosk (though none have phones in these days), Old London Bus, Full English Breakfast, Afternoon Tea etc.

Looking forward to hearing what 'forgieners' have to say!

It's my first year in the Intermediate classification and I want to make a statement.

Thanks.

This has been my most responded post by a big margin. And I've got exactly what I've wanted. I'll be collating all the replies after the weekend and posting here.

Bubble and Squeak - in case you didn't know, Jason - is basically a casserole - in which is put a thin gravy, dumplings, onions, and sausages. Then it is baked, until the dumplings are done … it's a DINNER!!!

A variation on the theme - called Pea-Knuckle, adds Peas, and uses Pig Knuckles, in place of Sausages.

The rest is basically the same … again, though - it's an English DINNER - NOT a breakfast!!!!!

Hmm, I think you're confused. The bubble and squeak I'm familiar with is per Limybiker's post, which I've quoted below:

"...B & S is left over dinner items veg potatoes that are fried in the bacon fat, and had next morning with eggs and bacon fried tomatoes, mushrooms, baked beans black pudding white pudding etc."

I spent time in London for 2 summers my son had an apt there. Having grown up in NYC I had learned to not like the subways. In London the tube is great. The directional on stations. Felt safe on tube.
Anytime day night. My son’s flat was down the block from the Beatles studio Abbey Road where people from all over the world gathered everyday. I realized the interest in the Beatles is worldwide. Go to Abby Road
Go to Abbey Road online. The station is nearby.

Tower Bridge, although it is more an icon than it is something typical

Great diagram.

So, what part of the diagram is considered British, the British Isles?

Indeed, the Sunbeam Tiger with a V-8 engine is a car with stories and is considered British, in my mind anyway.

I associate the dart board with British.

Yes, England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland (depending who you speak to). I had an Alpine, then got a great deal on a "basket case" Tiger. Among other things, it was missing a transmission. Any I found one, got it up and running some months later, and nearly killed myself, so I found a new hobby -British motorcycles - Victor 441, Triumph Trophy 350, BSA Goldstar 500, and a '61 Pre-Unit Bonneville 650 with a 750 kit. Wow, I haven't thought about that bike in years. Yes, and they ALL LEAKED.

BTW, the Isle of Man motorcyle TT begins May 25 and runs until June 7. Now that is one of the most exclusively British motorcycle races, and probably the fastest, attracting the world's top riders. Some shots of the race and the onlookers - these bikes zip through regular streets at 200 mph. Michael Dunlop recently turned in a 17 min lap on a 38 mi course for an average of 133 mph.

Hey - how else are you going to stop the back wheel from rusting?

I used to put a pan under them when I parked them. Messy and smelly, but they sure were fun!
