However, image quality is not up to high standards.

Since the OP doesn't respond I think perhaps we all misunderstood the OP question. He may want a FF lens that cover the same angle of view as the 18-55mm on the APS-C camera. In which case there are many.

Nikon does make a 24-120, 6mm shy on the wide end but certainly covers the 85 and then some.

I think bill has your answer.

The Tamron is a 16-300 cropped sensor lens. They do have a 28-300 that’s FF.

Sony has a 24-105 so it falls a bit short on the wide end. It is full frame and very sharp.

There is no lens for Sony full-frame that includes the 18-85mm range. You would have to get the Sony 24-105mm (great lens, I own it) and pair that with a 12-24mm or 16-35mm. There are two in the latter category: Sony GM 16-35 (the better of the two) and Sony Vario Tessar 16-35. There are no third-party lenses yet that will come even close. Tamron has a 28-75 and announced a 17-28--probably available in fall.

The B&H web site is great to do this kind of research--it includes detailed search parameters.

Why do you say the GM 16-35 is better than the VT16-35 ? I have the A7r iii and am looking for a great landscape lens in that range. Would also like to do some astrophotography so the f range is important. I have heard the VT has the better glass but if you have experience with them I would appreciate your input.

Please excuse my reply, I am not trying to argue. More so trying to understand. This is in the full frame section of the catalogue and is listed as an EF mount, not an EF-S. How can I tell that it is not a full frame lens if I were to shop and purchase a lens like this? Your input is greatly appreciated.
-Thank you.

Fair enough. I did not say that the 16-35 ZA was a weak lens. It even has image stabilization--which the GM counterpart does not. The ZA is f/4, the GM f/2.8. The GM has better corner sharpness--which matters for both landscape and astro. The ZA is lighter, smaller, cheaper. As always, the better lens is the one that suits your needs better.

The Sigma DC line will mount to the EF / EF-S mount. However, the lens projects an image circle specific to the cropped-sensor size. So, you can mount to a full frame body, but get an image with black shadow around the entire frame. Your confusion is understandable. The lens description at Larmon's includes an accurate detail: The Sigma 18-300mm Contemporary was designed for APS-C cameras where it equates to a 27-450mm lens and incorporates state-of-the-art Sigma technology. But, they certainly are not making it easy to find and avoid buying the wrong lens type.

Oh, I see it. The technical specs I was looking at shows EF mount, but when you move over to the 'description' tab it explains as you pointed out. Seems pretty sneaky to me! Thanks for pointing that out. I will be much more vigilant if I even creep into the market for one of these lenses.
-Thanks.
