At Kinbane Head, Antrim coast, Ireland. Built in 1547 by Colla MacDonnell of the Scottish MacDonald clan. Islay, Jura and Kintyre are visible from here.

Great shot. I could expect to walk in and find swords, armor and medieval treasures.

I'd expect to find Connor MacLeod & the rest of the immortals. Sorry for the oblique reference but the Highlander is one of my favorite movies and that castle looks like one of the locations. Nice shot.

Centuries speaking from this dramatic landscape David!
It makes me wonder how people living in the castle managed to stay warm - without trees in the neighborhood?
I bet the landscape had to be populated even before the 16th century?
Nice grasess contrasting with the stone structure and your luck showing also the human scale of the two persons in the background. Impressive!
Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for your kind comments. Locals would have had a number of forests to choose from, a little inland.
