First digit of the serial number is a 2, not a 1, 3 or 4, engraved on the front of the lens.
1.5'/0.45 meter close focus distance on the focus ring.
100% metal construction, except for the ribbed rubber band on the metal focus ring.
Am I wrong - or have you posted this lens 3 or 4 times before? How much are you asking now?

I bought this same lens (different serial number) from the same seller about a year ago. $300.
I compared it to my Tamron 24-70 G2 set to 50mm and same f-stop by shooting same subject about 15" distance and I cannot tell the difference between the 2 lenses after post processing and viewing on my 27-inch HD monitor.
You keep calling this a rare lens. However you keep selling one about every other month on this site.
Longest, wordiest sell listing I've ever seen for a simple little lens.
If these are AI-S where is the metering lug?

A metering lug is not what makes a lens AI-S or AI.
Metering lug is only needed for old cameras that have the meter-coupling pin under the prism....F1 Photomics, F2 Photomics, Nikkormats.... These cameras do not even benefit from AI and AI-S.
What identifies an AI-S, compared to an AI, is the scooped-out depression seen in the last photo, on the right side.
AI and AI-S lenses without metering lugs work with cameras that have a little coupling tab around the lens opening, not a pin sticking out under the prism.
