The rose garden, pond, play area are wonderful and could be in jeopardy. Sacramento County is preparing on putting in a huge vault to capture rainwater and sewage. This is just a band aide to the flooding problem and risk of sewage leakage into underwater rivers is scary. This vault ($30 million) will also house waste from near by Mercy Hospital.

Jim, these are beautiful. I don’t understand why they are putting useable water near sewage. Are they also talking about a waste treatment plant? Is there no other location?

Me and a friend walked around McKinley Park yesterday morning. And we spent about 35 minutes walking around the beautiful rose garden. I didn't bring my camera. Thank you for posting and sharing the information. I live near the UCD Med Center.

Great shots. The libs in Calif. are the reason we live in South Carolina. We don't miss Sacramento at all.

I lived there many years in the 50s, 60s and 70s, so I know.Didn't get to McKinley Park very often, it was a little too far away to get there on our bikes. And when I started driving I had better places to go (San Francisco, Folsom Lake, Lake Tahoe).
