Great Blue Heron eating ?

I’ve seen them eat a small turtle ... your shot is much better than mine we’re.

Good shot. And herons and egrets will eat anything they can catch. And I mean anything. They would eat you if they were a little bigger.

Yup...got lots of shots of them eating anything...this is one it couldn't eat even tho it tried for 15 minutes...my wife and I cried we were laughing so hard at it's attempt

Well you made me curious about what they eat. The answer is just about everything—fish, reptiles, small birds, mammals including gophers. Wow!

Nikon D850 and a Sigma 600C...Heron was preoccupied with his entrée so Sally got close...A lot of controversy with which Nikon camera is the best for birding ie D500, Z6 or 7 and I have viewed tons of critiques and videos.
All of them agree that the D850 is best. The Sigma 600C comes in last of the long lenses. ...Thank you...Oh yeah the lighting was "Golden Hour 9:30 am" .
