Nice shots! For birds, so many males are more colorful than females. Like the very bright yellow goldfinches on the ground by my feeders right now, while their drab mates blend into the surroundings.

Yep. You should take a look at Eclectus parrots from Australia. It took a long time for Ornithologist to figure out that the male and female were the same species.

Its unusual the female is more ornate than the male, although both are beautiful.
