Fantastic set, Donna and they are so beautiful, and I just spotted my first Rose-Breasted Grosbeak about three days ago. I was online and happen to look out of the window toward a little hanging feeder filled with oil flower seed which we move around the front yard from time to time--I move it several feet almost every day to eliminates the shell buildup on the ground. Anyway, this brown bird stayed on the feeder for quite a while and I took it to be a female red-wing blackbird and then a few minutes after it left this beautiful Red-breasted bird showed up and only then as I looked in the bird guide book I realized that the previous brown bird had been the hen grosbeak. They both made an appearance the next day but haven't seen them in the last two days but have been busy cutting grass and working with the flowers so they may be still around and did manage to get a few images of both the male and female, but only at the feeder. Really do love your beautiful images and take care! Corky

Oh Corky, I'm so glad you had a pair of these beauties at your feeder, and I'm so glad you enjoyed this post! Thanks so much! Another great seed that grosbeaks (and just about every other bird) loves is brown safflower. We had been putting out the white kind, and then the folks at Wild Birds Unlimited told us about the brown variety, and they were right, so you might like trying those as well. Even goldfinches love them, and squirrels won't bother a feeder where they're served. You're so lucky, Corky, because I think the grosbeaks also nest in your area rather than just migrate through like they do here. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have them nest on your property!!

Super beautiful shots, donna. I hope a rose breasted grosbeak drops by my yard...they have been spotted in the peachtree city area, .

Thank you so much for the lovely compliment, Greg! What I really want is a converter for this lens, Greg. For these birdies, I probably would have used my Tamron if the AF wasn't giving me so much trouble. I needed the reach but also needed to quickly focus, and I'm not getting that with my Tamron.
