I was minding my own business, taking pictures in Times Square, when this dude popped up in front of me saying, "Take my picture!" I snapped his picture, we high-fived, and he disappeared into the crowd.

Whatever the category, it was a fun experience!

Times Square is a unique place.
I hope you got to see it at night (Well, as night as it can be...)
Enjoyed the image!!

That would have been neat, but we had five very tired children in tow - we were back in our camper on the Jersey side every evening by 7pm.

I couldn't believe I got that shot - it was totally off the cuff and the whole incident was over in less than a minute! I wish I could send him the picture.

I did a photo book on homeless people in Fresno CA a while back. I got great pix by asking one guy and then returning the next day with 5 prints from Costco. After that a whole lot of people wanted photos, which I shot, then handed out at their respective spots the next day. They were eager to get their prints and trade them with their friends. There are so few things that homeless people have to keep that won't get stolen. It gave me cred and access....and made some people happy at such little cost.

Obviously this is not street. For work like this UHH will have to create a section for portraiture! Just kidding. Great shot :-) I had a similar incident a couple of years ago. I tried to be cool and snap a shot of a sidewalk café and a girl blasted me with a huge smile.
