I'm looking for a 20 to 22 inch monitor to use in post processing. My current one is not sharp enough (need higher resolution). Any Suggestions?

you haven't provided enough information. Does your computer support higher resolution? Budget? What is your current resolution?

I use a pair of 1920x1200 displays for photo editing. They each have more than enough resolution to do critical editing. A higher resolution display will make everything smaller making it hard to see stuff, which is why I have not bothered to upgrade anything.

You are referring to screen fonts, which can be adjusted in the OS. A higher resolution display will allow you to pixel peep to your heart's content.

An IPS display is generally better for photo work, colors and dynamic range are much better. NEC P series are nice, I have one and its kind of eye opening moving from a cheap office monitor.

Meant to say Nec Multisync PA series, not P series. I think Dell has some IPS monitors too.

I recently purchased a BENQ SW Series monitor that is designed photo editing and color management. I was using inexpensive monitors and could never get them color calibrated. The BENQ is much better in that regard and they have different resolutions available.

Have a look at Eizo monitors. They are among the best but not cheap.

I love higher resolution screen. Small text (in many cases can be scaled up) doesn't bother me. The reason I don't have a 4K screen because a 4K screen with good color rendition is way too expensive still.

There are a number of 4:3 20" to 22" monitors that were very good with resolution of 1600x1200 but I think they don't make them any more. 20" to 22" monitors in the 16:9 aspect ratio I haven't seen any good ones.
Screens that have resolution of 1920x1200 are generally very good and significantly more expensive than the more common 1920x1080.

I still use Mac monitors and resolution has never been a problem. Do a google search on "photo editing monitors" and check out the results.

I'm using a Viewsonic 20" VA2012wb backlit lcd monitor, set to 1680x1050 resolution, true color (32bit), and text at 125% and have no problems with Photo editing. One thing is to situate the monitor where you don't get reflected light bouncing off the screen. Mine is set into a computer cabinet with the cabinet door acting as a shade. I also sit about 2 ft. from the monitor. The other thing is that with photo editing you can zoom into the photo, so I don't see how it can not have enough resolution.

If you can go just a bit larger, the EIZO ColorEdge CS2420 24.1" Hardware Calibration IPS LCD Monitor 1920x1200 (CS2420-BK) would be a good monitor for you.

That one is indeed a very good monitor.
