I know the feeling. When I was younger I'd sometimes lie out on a rock and play dead, just to see if I could get any to come down. It didn't work...then.

The same thing happened to my brother. They decided they liked the location and called all their friends. Now he has a large flock which will not leave and craps everywhere. They return to roost almost every evening. Hope you have better luck.
