The Michaels I've been in do framing, yes pricey. But a custom shop would likely be more. If you stick to standard stock sizes, learn to do the framing yourself. These days my arthritis is such that I can no longer cut mats. Note, for archivalness, metal or possibly plastic frames are best for photographs. The wood frames have aromatic oils and other chemicals in the wood and finishes that can contaminate the printing paper!
There is a metallic tape made for the job that I use to cover the wood contact areas.
