I highly recommend David Busch's book "Nikon D7200". Stay away from the Nikon 7200 manual unless you use it as a reference manual.
I started with the AE- 1. Have all the bells and whistles and lenses that went with it! Had my own dark room and a color processor. Camera still works but getting film is difficult where I live. Finally bought a little Canon S80 in 2006. Loved all it could do. Then I bit the bullet and bought the 50D and just picked up the 5D MIV. Never used a Nikon but many people swear by them. This is a great forum-so many with good advice. Welcome.

Welcome, congratulations on the D7200. A bit complicated at first but you can get
some really awesome images. Have fun.

Don't know what you like to shoot, but if it's wildlife, both Georgetown park ponds are great for birds and herons.
