For the last few weeks these vultures have gathered on top of our barn in the morning. Nothing like looking out your living room window to see this sight! I had to take this through our side porch screened window so they wouldn't fly away, so quality and lighting isn't great.

I would check if the wife has not taken out a big new insurance policy on you and I wouldn't sneak into the house late at night just in case.

Brings to mind a Gary Larson/Far Side cartoon. Two vultures, sitting on a scraggly tree branch, watching a guy crawling across a cactus strewn desert toward the glint of water on the distant horizon. One vulture says, 'wonder if he'll make it?' The other vulture replies, 'bet he doesn't.'

Your thoughts remind me of my pneumonia shot. When I got it, the doc said I needed no boosters. When my wife got hers from the same doc, he reminded her that she’d need a booster in five years.

Is it turkey season? If so they might be hiding (in plain sight) from the hunters who can't shoot in towns or other human occupied places.
