Visit to Virginia Beach

Swamp-Cork was relating his recent experiences near his Virginia home; I realized that I had been to Virginia during the holidays and have some photos that I have not shared.
I made the trip to visit my son, who at the time was attending Old Dominion University. It came at a time when my hip was giving me the most trouble, so the birding I had wanted to do didn't get done.
I rented a primitive cabin at the Fort Story Naval facility. Nearby, were two lighthouses at Cape Henry. Did get some photo of them, my cabin and the Chesapeake Bay shoreline. I will also post link here to the history of the lighthouses.

Very nice. I have lived in Virginia Beach for 20 years and haven’t managed to capture those lighthouses. Funny how we sometimes overlook things in our own backyard.

Madman, Nice shots of th new and old Cape Cape Henry lights as all as the beach and water pictures. As a young Army Officer with a new wife it was a great place o lend our first two years. We had an off base apartment about 100 yards from the beach; rent was $113.00/month 😊 !
