Do you take photos wearing your glasses?

I wear trifocals and shoot with both eyes open, so I normally keep them on. But if I have plenty of time, I will remove them because I get a better view thru the viewfinder; plus when I shoot with them on, they get pushed around my face and tend to get smeared and need to be cleaned off.

I leave mine on. Same reason, I don't want to lose or break them.

And in photographing wildlife, removing the glasses would be one more thing to do.

I find that as I rest the lens of my specs against the rubber eye-cup of my EVF I can see the whole of the view - edge to edge - without a problem. It may be that EVFs are better for this than OVFs? or can the prescription have something to do with it?

I shoot with my glasses on (progressive lenses).

I leave my glasses on when shooting...... If not, when NOT looking through the viewfinder everything is blurred. Can you say blind as a bat without my glasses, I can. I would kill myself walking the sidelines without my glasses. If I wish to peek my photos I have to put on my reading glasses and remover my seer's. The golden years (73) are so good?

Prior to cataract surgery, yes. After surgery, no. I do keep readers close by (hanging on crookies around my neck). Somewhat of a nuisance, but no biggie.

I raise my bifocals up to my forehead where they are tight enough to stay put and take photos without glasses using only the adopter adjusted viewfinder.

I leave them on...otherwise I would have no idea of what it was I was trying to photograph

Jerry's posting about eyeglass retainers raises a question. Do you wear your glasses or take them off, when looking through your camera's viewfinder? I was setting up my wife's Sony HX-400V and she complained the view was blurred, looking through the viewfinder.

"That's because I need to adjust the diopter for you with your glasses on." I said. "But I take my glasses off when I take pictures." she replied.

That made me think a bit...I have my D5500 set up so the view is clear when I'm wearing my glasses which I've always kept on when photographing. Mostly I keep them on out of fear of losing them if I put them down somewhere for the 2 to 3 minutes my memory's good for. Is this a bad technique or simply a personal preference? How about the rest of you? Why? If it's a bad idea to keep them on, I'll go with Jerry's retainer.

Only if I want to see! Lol. Sorry, I couldn’t help it. Seriously though, when I first started wearing glasses, I could get away with not wearing them to look through the viewfinder; but, like you, I prefer to set the diopter so that I don’t have to worry about losing my glasses

I was near-sighted my entire life, and would have been useless trying to work without my glasses. When I had my cataract surgery, I chose implants that corrected my distant vision, since by then I needed help seeing closeup also. So now I can shoot without glasses, but can't see the camera. Most of the time, I just leave my glasses on. It's just a lot easier. Besides all that, I usually have to have my sunglasses on outside if the sun is shining.

I find that I cannot see the LCD or in the viewfinder well enough with my sunglasses on, so I do take them off to chimp or take a picture. I prefer not to take them off because it is one more thing to lose. Mine are clipons and I’ve lost plenty, kind of like lens caps!!

Even if your wife takes her glasses off, it's still a good idea to adjust the diopter to her vision.

I always have mine on, but if I take them off at other times this is what I do. Sometimes I forget where they are but never lose them.😎

I wear tri-focals all the time, can't see squat without my glasses on. I leave them on when photographing.

I always wear glasses but raise them on top of my head to take a picture relying on diopter for clarity. On top of my head I don't lose them.

I leave mine on. To be honest, I haven't tried with them off.
