Sit down

I was ask to photograph the contract signing for a semi-pro soccer team. I used a Godox AD600 in a 42” Glow Brolley. The light was positioned directly in the center and pointed down toward the subject. There was a lot of signing (24) to photograph so I sat in a chair below the light. I’m 77 years old so I take advantage of every opportunity to sit down.
Canon 5D III
Canon 24/105 f/4

A nice, simple, set-up has produced a good result - particularly like the first two. Always a problem to get everyone to look in the direction you want at the moment the shutter clicks, so #3 suffers a bit from that. You might just try pulling the shadows open a touch in all of them? I expect they were pleased with result.

Thank you. The young man in the photo is just in from Uganda. They won yesterdays game eight to one, he scored four of the goals.

Awesome drama and action in your second post... loved those decisive moments... not an easy thing to pull off... the second image of the "Keeper" defending his goal is epic! Always a tough decision where to stand, never want to have the player's backs in the image... I have found the corner kick position (just a tad forward) to be my money shot location...

As for the "Signing" assignment... technique is superb, albeit maybe rethink the focal length if possible... the blue banner and soccer balls are larger than the player's heads... also brighter since they were closer... Keep in mind that the eye is always drawn to the brightest area first... I totally realize you may have had no choice on the location, however visiting the venue prior to the session isn't just a good idea, it's essential a.k.a. planning on how to deal with the challenges rather than responding to them in real time... been there done that and know how challenging this can be...

All in all... great stuff... and thanks for the lighting diagrams....
Hope this helps or is at least food for thought...
All the best on your journey wayne-03
