From 4/03, I have been busy at the railway museum and 4/14 is the last day of our spring Thomas festival. Tonight I downloaded some snaps I took the last two weeks without downloading any.
This crow was one of a group competing for peanuts I had put out. The light was a bit dim and I spot metered on the crow so the ISO shot up to 6400. Main scene overexposed, crow pretty much on but of course a lot of noise from that ISO.

I am going in to get my share!

The crow looks great to me. What is the "noise"?
Hey, Robert,
Now that was a well-timed shutter squeeze!

thank you
Click on "download" to see it enlarged, all the little speckles and dots (called grain in the days of film) is digital noise - often those little dots are multi colored.
Bob, I did as you said, and sure enough I can see a little grain---but not much. I guess I'm still living in the last century. Thanks for your kind explanation! ---Ed Greding

When viewed on my iPad, there doesn’t seem to be any noise problem even at download. Nice shot.
