Can anyone shed some light on this camera? I've seen these types on the internet and always wondered what market this is targeted toward.
A compact $5000 camera seems so strange to me, that I really would like to know why someone would buy one and if they are worth the money. Who buys these cameras?
Thanks

Is there a Panasonic equivalent to this camera?
people with m ore money than brains
Who buys such cameras, potica69 asks? Good question. Apparently people with lots of money, the same folks who buy Ferraris, Jaguars, Astons and Maseratis.
Is there a Panasonic equivalent, GRZ357 asks? Good question. There does not seem to be a specific equivalent to the design and specs of this particular Leica. Leica was trying for a unique model.

https://www.leicacamerausa.com/leica-q2-camera.htmlThe LEICA Q2 is a special camera for special people. It is for people who deserve and have earned the very best. The LEICA MAN is a superior man who chooses to own LEICA because of who he is. If you have to ask "Is It Worth It," you don't deserve this camera. For you, it is not worth it. You just won't get it.
The Q2 is for the man who deserves the very best. It's not about taking pictures, it's about who you are. You people know who you are.

For people who buy Rolex and Porche.

So women cannot or won't buy a Leica?

Guess that you did not read that the page you copied is copyrighted by Ken Rockwell...
That only means you can't use it elsewhere for profit? Who would want to?

If you had to ask that question, it wouldn't make any difference whatsoever to get an answer-----

Guess what? You are wrong. Of course Rockwell has copyrighted that material. My assumption is that anything I see that someone else wrote is copyrighted. My use of that brief quote is well within the parameters of legal "fair use."
