Already have the Nikon 28 to 300 lens and use it on the Nikon 800 love the lens but it gets heavy by the end of the day. So asking is this Tamron a little lighter I know it is not as wide or the distance is not as far but it is still nice range. Does any one have this lens and how is it
Tamron makes excellent lens. I have a 70-300, bit heavy bur mounted on the tripod, it provided exceelent images.

I had the tamron 70-200 and its pretty light compared to my canon 70-200
I have the 70-200 Nikon f4 and it's easy on my shoulder
The late Galen Rowell used to hike with the cheap 80-200 f4-5.6 lens with its plastic mount.
Here are the Spec's listed from B&H photo. Your Nikon 28-300mm weights 1.8 lbs. (800g). The Tamron 70-200mm F2.8 G lens weights 3.3 lbs. (1.5kg). I have both lenses and I enjoy both lens.

Such a coincidence! Yes, I do own this lens.
1. This lens did win a prize for 2018.
2. It is rather long, but light.
3. Interestingly, it is a full frame.
4. It is reasonably priced.
5. I shot flowers with the lens today mounted on the Nikon 750. Quite yummy.
6. I typically shoot flowers with a d500 and a 105 mm Nikon lens. Also yummy.
7. As an aside, I was not thrilled with the Tamron 70 - 300mm. It is okay.
8. I was thrilled to buy the Nikon 750 used for under 800 bucks. The
Model only had a thousand shots on it. God is good.

I think the OP is referring to the Tamron 70-210 not the 70-200.

You are correct. I failed to indicate that I was referring to the Tamron 70-210. Comments refer to the The Tamron 70-210 full frame.
After reading nothing but positive reviews, i just picked up a Tamron 70-210 F4 to use in a wedding this month and an expedition to Antarctica in December on my also-new D7500. The lens is on special now for $599. In addition to the advantages mentioned above, it is weather-resistant, does not change length with zoom (thereby sucking in air and dirt), has a fluorine coated outer element, and is light enough to not need a tripod mount. I could not justify the added size, weight (2x), and cost of a F2.8.
I also bought a Tamron Tap-in console and look forward to customizing parameters, especially the Auto AF Fine tuning for 3 distances and 4 focal lengths rather than making do with just one AF Auto Fine-tuning correction per lens that the D7500 provides.
