I know exactly what you are saying. Why would you call our President a moron. I hated what Obama did to America and think he was a pussy on so many accounts. But I never called him a moron. Do you deny that our economy now is better than when Obama or anybody else recently was the President? Do you deny that Trump has done things that other Presidents only talked of doing but never got around to actually doing it.

Trump could possibly make the case but if he simply came out with an E/O there would be some ruckus in the fly-over. A careful case has to be made for reparations, simply telling people that they are going to pay for the sins of their great-great-great grandfathers to people who have never experienced a day of slavery would cause a shit storm, if a careful case is made explaining societal failings in terms of race that go all the way back to slavery, well then people may listen.. but I don't think that conservatives would ever support handing out checks to individuals or families, fixing societal deficiencies is something that may gain support.

Reparations? Who gets them? If you came from Haiti, never experienced slavery do you get a check because you are black. If you were a free black, do you get a check? How does anyone know if their ancestors experienced slavery?

What would handing a check to a black family accomplish? Racism will go away? They will now trust white cops? What shall we do for the Jewish people? little Frankie, Haiti had original inhabitants that were black, not of African descent. Slavery was abolished there in 1834, long before the civil war. The US did NOT enslave those people. Some of them came to the US, what do we do about them? Reparations for what? The US did not cause their slavery.
