I’m generally a black and white fan; but, to me, this one lacks needed contrast. I’ll have to go with the color version.

Of the two, black and white works better. That being said, that massive fence on the right does nothing for the images and should not have been included in your composition. I get that you were showing the path curving around the fence, but it is distracting.
Was there something on the left side that you wanted to eliminate?

Black and white. There are no "spectacular" colors in this scene that require their presentation in anything but tonally.

The dark green of the cyclone fence is a distraction in the color photo, not as much in the B&W. Thanks for sharing them.
