The reviews have been poor and photoshop18 has been teviewed well. Should I stay away from Elements 19? I have a new Apple computer and have been using Elements 14 on my old PC.
I just looked at the link bspraque provided and for me, I will stick to my version 18 because there is nothing in the new portion worth $100 to me. That said, it depends on what feature you are after!

I read the Amazon.com reviews.
I just took at at the Amazon reviews. Over 50% 1 star, mostly inability to download or install.

That said what would you advise a non techie? I also saw that Adobi has put the version 18 back. That doesn’t look good for version 19 at this point, does it?

I would go with 18.
I'm using 15 and 19 does nothing to turn me on.

Adobe does a few things to protect the consumer.
1. Photoshop Elements can be downloaded, installed and run from Adobe as a trial. The purpose of that is make sure that you like it, like the way it runs and doesn't get hung up on your computer.
2. If you like the trial and then buy it directly from Adobe, you have time to get a refund. I think it is two weeks, but it may be more. Retailers generally don't provide refunds.
3. If you have the current version, there is a system of online customer support "chat" where they can run your computer remotely if there are installation problems.
Do you need links for any of this?
Thank you. Actually you’re selling me on version 18. The other option for me is just to install 14 on the new computer.
I will keep all your info if I’m feeling brave. Any word on a version 20🙂?
I have 19 and have no issues at all.
I went from 14 to 19 on a MacBook Pro and experienced no problems.

I used elements for many years but gave up on Elements after version 14 or 15. It became unstable and freezes and even crashes on my desktops and laptop. The program is not designed for as many photos that I had , back then about 60,000, nor work on both my florida and ny desktop and travel laptop. Annual upgrades were costing not that much less than Lightroom CC which is what I switithed to.

Photoshop and Premiere Elements have new versions released annually around the last week in September or first week in October. Shortly thereafter is the holiday discount rush. You will probably find deals for the bundle near $80 and individually near $60.
