https://www.mcallen.net/veterans/Here on the Tejas frontier we have a Vietnam Memorial.
I did a total of 30 month's, first was Infantry 66/67, later Phoenix and then spec ops.
Now on100% VA disability.
Thank you for your service.
Thank you! 30 month's in country over two sabbaticals. Seven years seven days active duty, got out because another tour was inevitable and we had no plan to win.
Wrong place, wrong time twice gets me priority attention at the VA.

Agree about a special Viet Nam Memorial Day for you and your fellow warriors. That war was wrong in innumerable ways exacerbated by the draft. It ruined our national conscience and pride. Glad you are speaking out.
Thank you for your thoughts and feelings on this important issue. The other day someone accused me of looking for attention and sympathy because I have a license plate frame on my vehicle that says "Vietnam Veteran". My response was that I was seeking neither, simply helping others to remember the sacrifice and valor of so many who lost so much! In our split second society of today important memories are becoming blasé. The politicians and those on the extreme left have turned our schools into institutions unable to teach the true history, good or bad, of our country. I say that after 48 years as both a public and private school superintendent.
Those of us who were there must respectfully remind others of the impact on all. Even those who did not serve were affected. If we are truly one nation, and I would add under God, we must remember that what affects one affects all.
When I returned from Nam the last time I remained in CA. for seven years, then CO. with SOF for another seven years. When I moved here to Tejas I got Purple Heart license plates , I was offended that they charged an extra $35.00 for them. I stopped using them.
I was in San Diego, Orange and L A counties at various times, most with the same boss's. It was good at then, would not return.
Thank you for your service and commitment to your country and your fellow citizens! I am just one of many who was not required to serve, but who deeply appreciate those who did serve.
Had no idea that this topic would elicit so much attention and commentary. It did more than I hoped for and certainly is warming my heart and hopefully others ….Thank all of you very much...Reconvic
