What did he prove? Have Christians never behaved violently? Constantine conquered with symbol of the cross, the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, Salem witch trials, slavery was justified using the Bible... The Old Testament is full of violence

That is true. What is also true is that eventually christians identified that behavior as bad and dealt with it. To me, the failure, over the centuries, for them to see these things as wrong and to try to deal with it, is the base problem. As it is the code is as long as you don't do these bad things to Muslims, at least those you don't consider heretics, you are good to go.
