Fuji X100F and LR

hi, all. i usually shoot canon and just purchased a fuji x100F. my LR 5.7.1 will not recognize or open files (RAW and JPG). what do i have to do? update to latest version of LR CC or use/ do something else? many thanks in advance for pointing me in the right direction.

The very latest LR made Fuji specific improvements. Install a trial and see if it meets your expectations before you sign up.

You need to upgrade to a version of LR that recognizes the Fuji X100F files assuming there is one.
I've read that LR is not big on supporting Fuji but don't really know anything about that.
Try getting the free Adobe DNG converter and convert the Fuji RAW files to DNG which LR should import OK.

It says that the X100F was supported with DNG Converter 9.9, (mobile/cloud) Lightroom CC 1.0, (disk/computer) Lightroom Classic 2015.9 or the perpetual/stand alone Lightroom 6.9.
So, if you want to use Lightroom 5.7.1 that you have you can use the current (free) DNG converter. Or you could subscribe to the $10/month Photographers plan. A third choice is to buy the last perpetual licence version for $150 from B&H or other store.

Lightroom is fine with Fuji cameras, but LR v5.7 is much too old to be compatible with the Fuji X100F. Upgrade to the Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop subscription or purchase Photoshop Elements 2019, a one-time stand-alone edition of LR for less than $100.

Old software may not support RAW from newer cameras but I think it should open the JPEG.
