Having been in Az for a while, one can see JM is a less than distinguished individual. All one has to do is read about him, his first marriage, cheating on his wife, carpetbagging his way into Az. politics and his lack of representing the people who voted for him. He represented himself. Sure that gave him a classification of being a maverick of which he seemed to be quite proud. It would seem that his fellow shipmates didn't have an esteemed opinion of him, and rightfully so.

I guess that is why he kept getting reelected. Two terms in congress and then Senator from 1997 on. Obviously the majority of voters in Arizona liked appreciated what he was doing for them.
