What a load of poppycock. The NRA was founded in 1871 by a group of officers who fought in the Civil War. The purpose was to teach civilian marksmanship. They had seen such deplorable marksmanship during the war that their aim was to improve civilian marksmanship should civilians be called upon to serve in the military in another war.

I think your explaination is closer the the truth than the video. It is disurbing how the so called leaders of the black community are so mired in what used to be instead of talking about what can be.
It is also kind of odd that the NRA was founded in New York currently one of the most rabid anti-gun regions in the country.
