Nikon 5100 Nikkor 55-200 zoom lens F-5.6 asa 1/400 ISO 200. This snake was trying to hide from me in the water I saw him on land and he slide off into the water. If you look in the middle of the three plants you can see his skin pattern thru the murky water This is at the local swimming hole in Clifton Texas out near former President George Bush's ranch. It was a bright sunny day so that helped to bring out the detail in the snakes skin
Cool shot but be careful those bad boys can get real mean!!
There is a critter to watch out for, NASTY NASTY disposition.
Also very dangerous as they often strike mulitple times.
Their bite is what you might relate to having red hot nails stabbing your skin.
Bad snake! I do not like them at all. Everyone there need to watch out for this guy.
Amazing photo! I have no fear of snakes but something about barely being able to see this one in murky water is giving me chills.

My sister, now deceased, was an avid photographer and lived in Idaho near Jackson, Wyoming. She took a photo that I wish I had and will continue to search for through Nieces and Nephews, which was a WM in full strike mode...looking straight down his throat. It was a phenomenal photo and I hope I locate it one day for a copy of it. She used a long lens to get the photo and it looked like she was standing next to the snake when it struck.
Sorry about your sister I want a pose like that of a rattlesnake I get a few passing thru my yard in the summer and Ive been wanting to get one to coil up and pose for me but they usually run off if there not threatened
Mike. Go back about a year and check all of the uhh posting some place in there there is the shot you want looking straight down a wm gullet. Sorry I can't narrow it down any closer.
