There's slim pickings at this time of year so here's some anthers from an iris (in a vase in my kitchen).
Hand held, 1/200th F16 with home made diffuser.
A tad flat, and a bit dark. Both can be remedied in PP.

Thats 'cause you went over to the dark side years ago.

Uh, oh.... This is headed for a train wreck....
Hi Douglass; it is both - agreed.
I like the idea of uploading as "as shot" images (unless heavily doctored stacks etc.). so you see exactly what I got, warts and all and can help me improve the photography element (and not be misled by my genius (or not) at photoshop).
I'll have a tweak in Photoshop and see what I get and re-post (unless anyone else wants have a go and see what can be done to improve it).
I had a quick play in Snapseed on my ipad last night and it is (for a free and simple app) quite effective.
Thanks for your feedback

OK so here's the same image after a wee tweak in Photoshop.
Any feedback on this and recommendations for getting more "punch" in the image would be great.
Thanks again
My second tweak. And a crop.
