I am new to this site and I am looking forward to having good discussions about photography. Photography is my passion and I am fortunate to live in an area that is perfect for me. I live in Southwest Utah, very close to Zion, Bryce and all the wonderful places in the Southwest for great photo opportunities.
Welcome! I'm a brand new member here too.

cant wait to see all those lovely landscapes you have from living in that beutifal part of USA :!:
If you are interested in seeing a couple of my pictures and you have the September issue of Shutterbug go to page18 and mine is Paternoster Square and then turn to page 20 and that is my shot of Captitol Reef.
I love to camp and it is the easiest way to be on site and to capture the best light.
Hi deb, just got back from camping in Dixie Park, Utah. Just North of St. George. Pretty country to take pics.
Great shots especially the Capital Reef one. Just ordered the d7000 today and couldn't make up my mind about the 18-200 vr ll until I saw your shot but ordered the Tamron 28-75 from the orient with a US warranty. Nikon wedding photographers on youtube use the Tamron as a backup and recommend it. Southern Utah the National Parks,Escalante Grand Staircase and all the other beautiful places can"t be beat for photos and camping! I used to live a few miles from Palmyra. Welcome.
I love that area. Cedar Mountain and the area along route 14 is stunning during the fall. Aspen Mirror Lake is one of my favorite places.

Hi Clyde,
Not sure I know where Dixie Park is? Red Cliffs Desert Reserve is a beautiful place North of St. George.
Did you get to see any of this area?
Deb
Far and away the best landscape photo I have seen in this forum since joining.
Thank you...it made getting up at 5am and waiting for just the right light worth it.
Deb
Love the Aspens. I did look up your two images in the September Shutterbug and they're gorgeous. I get especially liked the gnarly juniper. Several times, I've been over to see the Ancient Bristlecones near Big Pine and your juniper is very reminiscent of them.
And, every once in a while, I get intrigued by the monthly assignments they give out, so while I was coming back from Sequoia and Kings Canyon, I spent some time photographing a very old gas station along the lines of the assignments printed in the August issue, but I wasn't thrilled with any of them because the windows didn't come out as I wanted (they had tempra paint signs on the inside that clearly had been dripped on through holes in the roof).
Thanks again for pointing out the Shutterbug pix.
