WARNING - Machu Picchu area threats to US Tourists

A few minutes ago, the US state department issued a warning to all US tourists in Cusco, Peru and headed to Machu Picchu. There have been some recent kidnappings.
Suggest you contact the State Department website for any updates if planning on traveling to Peru anytime soon.
Also, there are some un-common sense precautions any American tourist traveling abroad should practice.
Unfortunately, most don't, as most American tourists are easier to spot in Central and South America than a pink elephant.

They will have the situation cleaned up fairly quickly (South American time).

Asia is US Tourist friendly, at least Viet Nam, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore ( I did not care for the Maylaysia trip)
Mainland China and Hong Kong/ Kowloon.

Bruce, Cambodia should be one of the most highlighted destinations on every photographers list. The seven ruins, of which Angkor Wat is one, are a dream shoot. Cambodia is a little out of the way, and Laos(Lao) is even more. Both are very laid back. And like most of Asia, inexpensive. Bruce, go.
