They're here! They're here! (Too bad I'm not)

My Sigma 105 lens and Canon Speedlite arrived Thursday from KEH. Once again, they were outstanding. A bit of a scratch or two on the outside of the lens, the speedlite seems like mint.
Problem: I've been down with a virus since Thursday and haven't had a chance to try them out yet. It's driving me crazy!
Anybody have a suggestion on some reading I can do about the correct way to use the Speedlite? Hope to be posting something soon.

Excellent speedlight! Several Canon macro-photographers use same (or similar) speedlight for macro illumination. Some have built simple DIY softboxes; others have commercial softboxes.

Scroll through this thread to see several different designs (especially pages 2 & 3): http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-32754-1.html

Since I'm not a real big DIY type person, I'm just going to purchase a softbox and diffuser on line. Any recommendations as to size of softbox, brand, etc.?

Big is good! I really like the Aurora Mini Max...

But, I made DIY from an Ice Cream box and like it even better than my Aurora Mini... I bought the smaller of the Aurora's if I had it to do again I would purchase the larger of the two, what is nice about the Aurora is that it has a door or flap on both top and bottom that can be opened to add fill to a particular shot. Nice box.

BH says they are no longer available. Does this item fold up for storage? Just curious.
