I could not stand the concrete wall behind such a majestic bird. I photoshopped in some green.

While at it... must admit. These ere shot in the National Aviary in Pittsburgh and there was glass between him and me. First the lens, then the human / bird protection, thick type glass.

For some reason, I had to reduce the size to 50% to get these posted. Have not had to do that in the past, don't quite understand.

Nice shots Al. How big where the files before you tried to post them? I think its 20mb in any one posting before they shut you down...and make you re-size them.

Thanks Bret.

The bird with the green added was 21.3mb and the one without green was 13.9mb. Guess the 21.3 violated. I thought I had loaded larger in the past.

I had a look in Photoshop and you saved the file as .png file so thats ok Try and make the longest side 640 pixels, and make sure you do not press the preview button.

Nice shots, is a polariser the answer to reflections in glass surfaces, also getting your lens right up to the glass may help..just asking

Thanks Macro. Yep, looks like about 75% is as big as I can send on an uncropped image. The preview button is not as big of a problem as hitting send twice.... Been there, done that (on this post, even).

The lighting was interesting Robbie. The top of the room/cage is open to the outside (ambient light) but the hallways have fluorescent lighting mixed with ambient. I was lens hood to glass on a several shots and I am thinking that this was one of those. Another eagle (Japanese Fish Eagle) was high and I know that I had to use the CPL for him.

Thanks for the comments.

 Nice shots. Thanks for sharing.

I usually resize my pics to 900x600 pixels to avoid getting into trouble uploading.

That was the first time that I got caught. Live and learn I guess (even at 70).

Thanks for the comments Gene.

Thanks Erv. That is the closest I have ever been to one that wasn't in a metal cage.
