Never tried it, but I've heard good things about Darktable.

Picasa not sure if it's ok for the MAC tho'. Works on Vista ok.

Gimp works on the Mac but you have to download the correct version for your Mac. I'm using 8.2 I think.

Pardon me for being dense, but is this link for the Win or mac? It appears to be for Mac.
I need the Win version.

I think I just answered my question. It appears that Win is developed in Ubuntu. I need to get Ubuntu installed and workable.
Advise if I'm wrong. I tend to go that way.

Try search ing for "Open source image editors." They are mostly free and mostly multi-platform.

PhotoScape is one I have used it free I am a PC user so I don't know if it will work on MAC.

Sagelight is a great program. I've used it for wedding photography and it works great for raw formats. It is about $40 bucks and is extremely comprehensive and very easy to use.
